St Mark Outreach Ministry will again be conducting a parish wide food drive for our friends at Our Lady of the Rosary Parish in the Fox Point neighborhood in Providence.

It will be a Drive In and Drop Off event in the church parking lot on Saturday October 14th from 9-11.  Rain date is Saturday October 21st from 9-11.

Simply follow the signs to the church parking lot, pop your trunk and your donations will be unloaded for you!  The good folks from OLR will be here to load directly into their vehicles.

The food pantry at OLR assists 125 struggling families from their neighborhood each month and they often run out of food, forcing them to purchase food from the RI Food Bank or close their doors if there are not funds available to purchase the food needed.  Through the generosity of St Mark parishioners and the Jamestown community, we have never faced that problem here at our food pantry.

The Outreach Ministry wishes to thank our St Mark Family for your continued support and concern for those less fortunate.

 May God bless you all!

Join Fr. Doug for a three part discussion on the theme of An Adult Christ at Christmas beginning on Tuesday, November 16th.  It will be based on the wonderful volume of the same name by Fr. Raymond Brown, the greatest of all American scripture scholars. In this three part series, Fr. Doug will speak about the stories of the birth of Jesus in the Gospels and how they contain the entire message of the Gospel tradition in miniature. He will also examine several of the very familiar Christmas gospels and how they invite us to discover an adult faith in the midst of the Christmas season fascination with the “baby Jesus”. The Savior born in Bethlehem is also the Crucified Lord of Calvary and the Resurrected Lord of the present moment!

The sessions will take place on Tuesday, November 16, November 30 and December 14.

To accommodate parishioners with different schedules, two sessions will be offered - there will be a morning session from 9am-10:30am and an evening session from 6:30am-8pm. The evening session will be a repeat of the morning session.  There is no need to register if you plan to attend in person.  If you would like to join virtually, please contact Chris at dre@stmarkjtn.org for meeting login information.
